Garden Bloggers Book Review: Hothouse Flower

A few months ago I helped coordinate a virtual garden book tour of Hothouse Flower and the Nine Plants of Desire among garden bloggers. The reviews to the book were  mixed. Some garden bloggers gave the book positive reviews, while other bloggers (the indoor plant experts, wrote pretty scathing reviews. Whether positive or negative each book reviewer brought something unique to the conversation on the book. Below are links to the reviews, in no particular order, by some of the garden bloggers I helped arrange to review the book. The links should open in a new window for you.

Plants Are the Strangest People: Book Review: Hothouse Flower, by Margo Berwin.
Garden Faerie's Musings: Revelation on the megabus and 9 plants of desire.
Auntie Debbi's Garden: Hothouse Flower and the 9 Plants of Desire.
Indoor Garden(er): Hothouse Flower.
K-Town Homestead: Hothouse Flower and the Nine Plants of Desire.
MrBrownThumb: Hothouse Flower: Hothouse Flower and the Nine Plants of Desire.

Did you read this book? If you did what did you think about it?

Here are two links from the comments section.

  1. I read and reviewed it, and hopefully fairly. I didn't much like it, though I see real potential in the author. Since I review books regularly, I was more intent on being honest than on being fawning, like some of the reviewers were. Nor did I provide a giveaway copy. If I don't like something, why would I encourage others to read it by providing more copies of it?

  2. Hi Jodi,

I just Googled to find your review of it. I didn't know that copies were offered. Here's a link to Jodi's review if anyone coming across this is interested in reading it.http://is.gd/g977e

  3. Hi fellow garden bloggers! MrBrownThumb, thanks for coordinating this book review for garden bloggers, I really enjoyed being part of it. This is my first time doing a book review and I would love to be involved if the opportunity comes up again. I enjoyed reading the other book reviews too, it was like being in a virtual book club! :-)
