Blogger's most requested feature is here. Today's post on Blogger Buzz unveiled the new feature and how to activate it on your blog. I've been waiting patiently for years for this and I'm excited that we can now reply directly to the comments.

Check it out for yourself!
On a related note: This probably won't be the last update the Blogger team, who has been working their finger off bring new changes to the platform, will release to the commenting system. A few months ago the team did a Q&A on Reddit, the popular news aggregate site, and I asked about the comments. At the time one of the staff members said that they were working on a "two tier" commenting system. What that means, I'm not exactly sure, but I'm guessing it will allow people who are not Blogger members the ability to comment easier.

Perhaps the two tier commenting system is like Wordpress where you can reply directly below the comment. Or maybe this is what this new change is...I am on my way to my blog to see what the changes are. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYES!!! That is awesome. Thanks for sharing MBT.

It's about time!!!!
ReplyDeleteHmm Mine doesn't seem to work right...
DeleteDave, I can't seem to reply here I think there's something wrong with my template. An interference between the new code and modifications you made maybe? That's what I'm guessing the problem is because I see that there's a block quote image in the comments that I used to use in this template. So, something's screwy with mine.
ReplyDeleteI figured out my issue. It may be the same or at least related. My blockquote css was set at a fixed width. Once I eliminated that it fit within bounds. Also there is a fix for those with heavily customized blogs (here's a link to the solution: http://www.bloggerplugins.org/2012/01/threaded-comments-for-blogger.html).
DeleteWoo hoo! This has been a long time in the making!! Thanks for the update =)
ReplyDeleteIt is about time. I hated listing all of the replies into one comment. Thanks for the heads up on this new feature and I have added it to my posts.
ReplyDeleteYay! Off to check his one out...
ReplyDeleteIt's a good start, but a pity there's such a long gap between the comment box and anything the blog owner says to encourage people to comment. However, if I remember correctly that's always been a 'feature' of the Embedded Comment option and was one of the reasons I went back to the Full Page option when it was introduced.
ReplyDeleteReally?! Now that is a great change. I hope it will work;-)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! It's about time. I have seriously considered Word Press because I like the threaded comments. Blogger's so easy though, old and comfortable like an old pair of jeans.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up MBT. I just made the switch, and it seems to be working fine.
There's an issue with Internet Explorer and Firefox sending users directly to the comments rather than the top of the page. No fixes yet for it. Hopefully they will figure it out soon.
ReplyDeleteAlso an issue of clicking on the comments button and having a blank page loading.
